“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”- John 15:12-13
I was amazed when I read this, to think that Jesus doesn’t just sees us as His servants but His friends. I remember last Sunday night when I was watching this amazing ministry online and the message pertained to being students of Christ and not being like those that were in the crowds. Ever had those friends who only hung out with you because you entertain them? They don’t really care too much of what you’re going through but they always seem to want a dose of your energy. Well to determine who your true friends are, they are the ones who not only stick around through the good times, but they are willing to stand by your side, even when the world rejects you.
If you don’t have any friends in that category, as a matter in fact you do! He’s the greatest friend you can ever have and His name is Jesus Christ. He came on this earth not to show off His supernatural powers and chill with the famous. He came down with you in mind to sacrifice Himself on the cross so that you no longer have to be lonely, you no longer have to hold your anger and burdens to yourself. Christ came to break the separation between us and Him and have an intimate relationship with Him and have complete access with Him 24/7. Tell me which one of your friends would have done the same for you?
If she could use her dance gift for the glory of God! That would be #MindBlowing

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV)
Everyone loves to get something new. But as a believer in Jesus, you’re not only getting something new, you are something new. You are a brand new creation! Your eternal being, your spirit, is re-created in Christ. The old is gone, the new has come! You may not necessarily feel new right away. That’s because the Bible tells us that we are to “work out” our salvation. That means you have to retrain your body and mind to act, think, speak and live according to God’s ways instead of the old habits you used to have. Don’t ever get stuck in the rut of thinking, “I’ll never change…that’s just the way I am.” No, the Bible says that the Spirit of God aids us in our weakness. He gives us strength to overcome. He empowers us to live as more than conquerors in this life.
Is there something you want to change in your life today? If you’ve received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then start declaring, “I am a new creation in Christ! I am empowered to overcome! I am equipped to walk in the new, abundant life the Lord has in store for me!”
A Prayer for TodayFather in heaven, thank You for making me a new creation. Thank You for empowering me to live as an overcomer. I give this day to You and ask that You help me to fully understand the plan You have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“Don’t call attention to yourself; let others do that for you.” - Proverbs 27:2
Most of the time we all love to receive some form of acknowledgment, whether its that MVP sports trophy, a shout out from a celebrity, and all kinds of rewards. And though there are people who do deserve their reward, some people want to cheat and bribe their way to success. In fact this can be the case even in our own churches, we have ministers who start out doing the will of God, then somewhere in that journey they open the door of pride to enter in and deceive their hearts to use their gifts to glorify themselves instead of Christ. Others may enter into ministry, without even getting a consent from God but they do it because they just want to be seen, not some lazy bum who takes up bench space every Sunday.
Sometimes we all want to be in the spotlight, we all want to be known by millions of people who are here on earth, but I’m here to tell you that if you are known by yourself and not by Christ first, then your work is done in vain. See sometimes we get caught up in the spotlight that we forget the One who got us that job, who blessed us with that great singing voice, or athletic ability in the first place. We forget our very purpose of living here on this earth, not to receive glory, but to give glory to the One who created us and loved us first. We were created by God to live a life of worship and intimacy that is unlike any other relationship that you could ever experience as long as you live here in this world.
Proverbs 27:2 is reminding us to stop looking at ourselves as if we are superior to one another, as if we deserve everything that we have, because we don’t. If you really want to know who you are, listen to what people who are around you have to say. It could be your fellow classmates, your brothers and sisters in Christ, or your close relatives. If God were to ask each and everyone of them individually of who you are and what they think of you, would they describe you to be a person who is a servant of Jesus Christ?, a person who fears the Lord and serves others?. Or would they say something contrary to that? Remember that the things that you do in this world won’t last, but it is the things that you do for Christ that will. So I ask you, Who are you?
